Here we go, short and sweet:
Article 1: Facebook and Social Networking for Artists
http://bit.ly/2dRoWHr by Alan Bamberger, www.artbusiness.comhttps://twitter.com/AlanBamberger
This article focuses on Facebook but can be applied to other social media platforms and provides you with a long and very useful list of DO's and DON'Ts.
Me doing social media in my Vienna studio, 2016 (very, very frustrating... at times)
Article 2: Top 10 Reasons Why Artists Fail with Social Media
http://bit.ly/2e1wPvt by Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery http://www.lightspacetime.com/https://twitter.com/lightspacetime
This article provides you with the very facts why a lot of artists are unsuccessful on social media, giving great tips on how to improve your social media profile and activities.
Reading these two articles, I think the following 3 tips are the most useful in order to succeed in your social media adventure:
- Relevant information – make whatever you post of value to yourself and to your followers
- Give to receive – Share your friends posts, encourage them and they will do the same for you (unless they are jerks and don't read other people's posts...)
- No spamming – Nobody likes to be constantly bombarded with information about you and your art.
I am curious to know what you think about the articles and the guidelines. Share your success and/or frustration with me and let's hook up on Social!
